Cookie Policy

Effective date: June 1, 2026. This policy explains how Custodium Vault uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website.

Custodium Vault ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on https://custodiumvault.com. This Cookie Policy explains what they are, why we use them, and the choices you have. For information about how we handle your personal data more broadly, please see our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners.

Similar technologies include:

  • Local storage — Data stored directly in your browser that persists between sessions, used for keeping you logged in and saving your settings.
  • Session storage — Temporary data that is cleared when you close your browser tab, used to maintain state within a single browsing session.
  • Pixels and web beacons — Tiny transparent images embedded in pages or emails that signal when content has been viewed, used to measure engagement.

This policy covers all of these technologies collectively referred to as "cookies."

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies to:

  • Keep you securely signed in to your Custodium Vault account.
  • Remember your preferences and settings between visits.
  • Protect your account from unauthorised access through session management and device fingerprinting.
  • Understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it — including which pages are most visited and where visitors come from.
  • Measure the effectiveness of our marketing and affiliate partnerships.
  • Prevent fraud and ensure the security of your account and vault.

We do not use cookies to serve advertising, build advertising profiles, or sell data to third parties.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website and the Service to function. They cannot be switched off. Without them, you cannot log in, access your vault, or complete a purchase. They include:

  • Authentication cookies — Keep you logged in securely during your session.
  • Security cookies — Protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and other security threats.
  • Load balancing cookies — Ensure your requests are routed to the correct server.

These cookies do not require your consent and are always active.

Functional Cookies

These cookies remember choices you make to personalise your experience. Disabling them may affect how the site behaves for you. They include:

  • Preference cookies — Remember your language, region, or display settings.
  • Session state cookies — Maintain context as you navigate between pages within the Service.

Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website, which pages are popular, and where we can improve. All data collected is aggregated and anonymised — it cannot be used to identify you personally.

  • Page view tracking — Which pages are visited and how long visitors spend on them.
  • Traffic source tracking — How visitors arrive at our site (e.g., direct, search, referral).
  • Error tracking — Technical errors that affect user experience.

You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time — see Section 5.

Affiliate & Referral Cookies

We use Tolt to manage our affiliate programme. When you arrive at our site via an affiliate link, a cookie is set to track the referral so that the affiliate can be credited for your purchase. This cookie:

  • Does not collect any personal information beyond a referral identifier.
  • Expires after 90 days.
  • Is only used to attribute a purchase to the correct affiliate partner — not for advertising purposes.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our site are set by trusted third-party service providers. We have no direct control over these cookies, but we carefully vet all third parties we work with. Current third-party cookie providers include:

  • Stripe — Our payment processor sets cookies to detect fraud, remember your payment method preferences, and ensure secure checkout. These are strictly necessary for processing payments. Stripe's privacy practices are described at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Tolt — Our affiliate tracking platform sets a referral cookie when you arrive via an affiliate link. See Section 3 above.

We do not use Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or any other advertising network cookies.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You have several options for controlling cookies:

Browser Settings

All major browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in or using the Service. Links to cookie settings for common browsers:

  • Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Safari — Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Opt Out of Analytics

If we use Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being collected. Many analytics providers also honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal.

Cookie Banner

When you first visit our site, we display a cookie banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can update your preferences at any time by clearing your cookies and revisiting the site, which will re-display the banner.

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing not be tracked. We currently honour DNT signals for analytics cookies — if your browser sends a DNT signal, we will not set analytics cookies for your session.

We also respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which is a newer, more standardised opt-out mechanism supported by some browsers and extensions.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our use of cookies evolves or as legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify active account holders by email.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.

8. Contact Us

If you have questions about our use of cookies or this Cookie Policy, please contact us:

We will respond to all enquiries within 5 business days.
